Ahoy and a hearty 'YARRR' to the 1,800 members of our crew funding our voyage through salt and sea. We've called a council of pirates to talk unlocked stretch goals, new Pirates & Plunder details, and our most recent Scouting Party which is all about what you'll find in P&P to make seafaring campaigns crackle with excitement!
With all the loot, crew, and stacks of treasure maps coming through a pirate ship, pirates have to be surprisingly good record-keepers. To keep your captains and quartermasters on top of the voyage, we've cooked up a digital Ship Tracker for players and GMs!
Your Ship Tracker will include spaces to jot down all the notable and important details about any ship, pirate or otherwise. This includes physical details like the size of your ship, or the fancy figurehead you've carved into the prow, as well as more important things like your complement of cannons, powder and shot – very useful for our new ship-to-ship combat rules! You can also log various members of your crew, their abilities, and their cut of your booty, the contents of your hold, and there's even a spot for your crew of corsairs to fly their flag!
A Prepared! for buccaneers and all ye scabrous sea rovers, Tales from the Sea: Part 1 includes 4 easy-to-run adventures for parties and crews in need of a nautical side-quest. Each adventure is written as a one-shot for 1st and 2nd levels, and includes plenty of maps (pirates love maps) and notes on story threads to weave into a larger campaign.
- A Quiet Port. - A once-tranquil seaside town appears to have been abandoned overnight, but is it?
- A Sour Deal. - An unexpected and unconventional kidnapping targets the PCs.
- The Auction. - Your crew becomes entangled in a sunken treasure hunt!
- The Pursuit. - Forces from the deep are demanding tribute from all ship traffic passing through their territory.
We've got an even bigger adventure just on the horizon, written by KP's Marketing Director, Dot Steverson. In Seggotan's Song Pearls, the heroes are drawn into a search for a legendary treasure hidden even from its divine owner. Of course, every treasure hunt has more than a few interested parties, so it's a race to reach the hidden hoard, find a way through deadly puzzles protecting it, and escape with the precious loot. But among pirates, nothing is quite so simple, and if the PCs fail to secure the hoard, life on the sea will be forever changed.
Seggotan's Song Pearls is written for PCs level 5 or 6, and will become part of your treasure hoard if we can unlock that stretch goal!
During the hearty Kobold Con 2026 celebrations, we were fortunate enough to sit down with our Pirates and Plunder writers during a livestream AMA to answer your questions about the book. Find that video here and geek out pirate-style!
Friday, April 24th saw the return of Scouting Party. Captain Kendo sat down with our Campaign Builder: Pirates & Plunder designers to talk about what makes this tome perfect for Game Masters looking to start a campaign on the high-seas with a mind for piracy, treasure-hunting, and exploration.
